Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb 450g ground beef
  • 1 cup uncooked white rice or brown rice
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables peas, carrots, or bell peppers
  • 2 cups beef broth or chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter

Seasoning

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning

Optional Add-Ins

  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat if needed.
  • Stir in diced onion and garlic. Cook for 2–3 minutes until fragrant and softened.
  • Add rice to the skillet and stir so it coats in the beef and seasoning mixture.
  • Pour in broth and add salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and oregano. Stir well.
  • Bring mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 18–20 minutes, or until rice is fully cooked.
  • Stir in vegetables and cook another 2–3 minutes until heated through.
  • Optional: Add shredded cheese on top and let melt.
  • Fluff, garnish with parsley, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Brown the beef well for deeper flavor.
  • Don’t lift the lid while rice is cooking to prevent uneven cooking.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste.
  • Use pre-cooked rice to speed up cooking; reduce broth accordingly.
